What is an ironing service?
An ironing service is where we pick up your basket of ironing, iron it at our location, and then return it to you hung and folded. You don’t need to do anything more than just book in and we’ll do the rest.
Who uses an ironing service?
All different types but mostly people who hate ironing or don’t have time to do ironing. We service families, couples, retirees and business. If you have ironing you can’t do or don’t want to do then give it to us, we love ironing.
What area do you service?
Right now we only service the Sydney Eastern Suburbs, although we have plans to expand. These are the suburbs we currently pick up and deliver to. If you live in a different suburb that is adjacent to one of these and would like to use our service then please contact us and we’ll try to accommodate you.

I want to create a new account but can’t?
Yes I’m afraid that’s on purpose as we’re in the enviable position of being to busy right now so we’ve taken the drastic step of closing off for new customer until we get more staff trained and and ready to service your needs. We’re looking to open up for new customers in late October 2017.
What do you consider a basket?
We’re pretty reasonable about basket sizes. We use the term basket as a way to judge the amount of ironing required but baskets can come in all shapes and sizes and can be filled with all manner of items. Something like this is your typical basket. Filled up and slightly over the top is fine.
But something like this is pushing it.
We don’t care what is inside the basket within reason, if you try to jam it full with clothes like you’re going overseas on a holiday then expect to pay more. Unlike other ironing services that charge per item, charge extra for frills or lace or limit the amount of business shirts you can have be iron free don’t do any of this. We’re happy to provide a flat rate per basket and not waste your time or ours counting items, surcharging because you have nice clothes, or adding on a delivery cost. We want you to be iron free in the simplest most efficient manner possible.
For those of you that like to have hard number we say that a basket is usually up to 15 – 20 mixed (mixed as in adult and children’s clothes, large items like shirts and dresses and small items like t shirts and shorts) items but 15 – 20 sheets is obviously much more that 15 – 20 t-shirts or 15 – 20 handkerchiefs. If you just want to send out just business shirts then expect a standard basket to be around 13 to 16 business shirts depending on the size. If you’re not sure ask the driver on pick up or we’ll contact you if we find the basket is too large . For some of our customers who have large families and therefore large baskets we have a 1.5 basket pricing. Just add the code HALF on checkout of two baskets and it will reduce the 2nd basket back down to half price.
In that case can get my ironing done cheaper for X at Y, why should I use you?
If you care only about price then you probably shouldn’t, we’re not going to be the cheapest and we don’t want to be the cheapest option. We’re all about quality, service and ease of use. We can’t compete and, don’t want to with, cash in hand fly by night operations.
Do you provide hangers?
Ideally you should put into the basket the correct amount of hangers and type of hangers you need for your clothes. The best way is to just pull the empty hangers out of your wardrobe and load them in. If we find there are more hangers than needed we will return the remainder in your basket. If there are less then we will provide a standard wire hanger free of charge.
Do I need to provide anything else?
Usually all you would need is the clothes and hangers. If you would like any starch then please ensure it is in the basket. We will use it on the clothes you’ve specified in your ironing profile and return the remainder to you to use next week.
How far ahead can I book?
Our online booking system allows for bookings up to two months from today’s date. You will need to pay at the time of booking either by credit card online or select cash on pick up. If you would like to book further out or set up a reoccurring weekly booking is best to call us and we’ll arrange that for you.
What cards to you accept and is your online system safe?
We accept all Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit and debit cards. We don’t charge a surcharge so feel free to rack up those reward points. If you would like to pay by cash then you can directly to our driver on pick up of your basket. Our website uses an SSL layer and all online payments are processed through a third party gateway Stripe. No credit card details are taken or stored on our servers.
Where do you leave the clothes on delivery?
Wherever you want. We can leave them unattended outside your home, hand them to you at the door or load them directly into your wardrobes if you’d like. All our drivers are criminal record checked, have completed working with children checks and are uniformed. Like everyone at be iron free they are customer focused and are there to help you.
I think I left my (keys, cash, engagement ring, paper etc) in an item of clothing , what should i do?
We are used to this and find all manner of items in clothes pockets or just left in the basket. If it’s very important or highly valuable then call us straight away and we’ll look for it immediately. Otherwise if any of our team find items inside pockets they will leave them in a ziplocked bag at the top of the basket and inform the driver. All baskets are tagged and barcoded so we can track their location immediately.
What are all these questions under ironing profile?
Our goal is to get your basket of ironing done exactly as you would like it and these questions help us to do that. Fortunately it only needs to be filled out once and it will remember your settings until you decide to update it. If you don’t want to make any choices then leave the option as “No Preference” and our team will use their experience and judgement.
How do I use my gift voucher?
Gift vouchers and discount codes can be used at checkout. There are boxes to input the code number. If the checkout value is more than the gift voucher then you will need to pay the difference, if it is less then the balance will remain under the same code for you to use on your next basket.
